They need to do something about that logo, though. It looks like "RuPaul's Dragu" - it sounds like RuPaul is launching her own brand of spaghetti sauce for drag queens. Move that U a little further away, for heaven's sakes.
I looooooove Ongina's headpiece here; I think that's one of the best looks I've ever seen on her. Meanwhile, Morgan's wig is shit; either the color is really bad or you can see her boy hairline past the blonde of the wig.
But am I the only one wondering WTF that nutbar Tammie Brown is doing back?
*squints* I think Morgan's wig is just meant to have somewhat darker roots to help it look more natural?
But am I the only one wondering WTF that nutbar Tammie Brown is doing back?
I was just thinking that it probably means that RuPaul doesn't really hold grudges, given that Tammie told her to 'excuse her mouth' and that she doesn't walk children in nature :D
Ongina's headpiece is really great but (I don't think I can unsee the David Carradine comparison, sadly) -- it's a bit skull-cappy? It makes me feel sort of like Ongina's one of those Lego people.
Tammie Brown might have been brought back for comedy and/or character. She's certainly got plenty of both. XD She's unique, and I think it's cool that they brought her back as a "professor", even if I don't agree with her style choices (mostly her wigs).
Shit wait a minute, if both Raven and Jujubee are there did that mean that Tyra won the drag Race! I mean if either of them were the winner wouldn't that mean that they would not have time to this show and the Pride Tour as well?
I wouldn't assume that it means that neither of the two won -- Drag U has already finished filming as far as I can tell, so there's no time competition.
However, Bebe isn't in Drag U either. That could be a sign.
Maybe they picked people who have tv personalities? I think Tyra lacks a personality other than being annoying. She also doesn't really have an original style. Her hair is almost always just an imitation of Ru's.
Even so, there's been a lot of speculation that Tyra has won (a complete tragedy if she has, in my opinion).
I did the "Raven + Jujubee - Tyra - Bebe = Tyra possibly wins" math too, but I'm still holding out hope that Juju takes it and Bebe was just unavailable. :/ anansie_s's logic about Drag U already being in the can is also a thin straw of hope I'm clinging to.
One of the messages RuPaul has tried to convey throughout her career (as told to me by someone on another board who is allegedly in Ru's camp) is that one gets much farther by being nice than by being nasty. So based on the combination of both talent and behavior, yes, I think Jujubee should win.
Now if RuPaul doesn't care if a "nice" queen wins Drag Race, then sure, it's anyone's game. But if she intends to retain her ethical stance, Juju is the only one of the three who qualifies.
And on a personal note, I don't believe in rewarding objectionable people. Tyra is gorgeous and Raven is an incredible actress, but talent should never excuse poor behavior. Not for Mel Gibson, not for Chris Brown, and not for any of these drag queens.
OMG Anansi! I just had a look at the preview in my study break, and it's totally made my day! My inital concerns about the premise of the show are out the window. Nina and Pandora and Juju and Ongina together! I'm so excited. I'd LOVE to have those awesome, fierce babes make me over! When does it start?
(whoa, kind of a few too many exclamation marks in that. But you get that I'm excited, right?)
So, wait, you mean that you think that this is a good thing?
Nina looks so amazing in this promo doesn't she! And I feel like Shannel would make a good teacher too. I think I saw something about June or July? I hope that they all get to work together as a group. (Morgan: 'Pole dancing is empowering!' vs. Tammie Brown: 'Put your legs together, young lady, and sit up straight :|')
Oh, I hope they paired Juju and Ongina with each other in a special episode to give an Asian girl a makeover. It would be hilarious/scary.
