Here's the exit interview with this week's eliminated contestant.
Really bad decision, IMO.
Also -- Henry Rollins is guest judge next week!

OMG noooooo it's not possible! (Apparently she hates Sahara because Sahara said that Beyonce has cellulite? I mean --- CRAAAZY). But now it is! I don't get it. I always thought Ru seemed to value niceness (or at least graciousness) quite a lot, but maybe not. This was just *wrong*. Plus, Merle said that she'd vote Tyra off if it was up to her -- but she still won :/ (I guess the other judges don't really have much of a say. Omg, maybe Tyra Banks has possessed Ru and now Ru is making crappy decisions!)
I'm still stumped that Morgan was kicked off. They didn't even try to give a good reason for putting her in the bottom 2.

Date: 2010-03-10 03:43 am (UTC)It worries me--I mean look at what happened last season when Rebecca was kept over Jade, despite Jade's amazing performance. I cannot believe at the end it was Nina, Bebe and *Rebecca* who should have gone home like three eps before, I mean she wasn't even in the same dimension as the other two queens.
Ugh, I really, really don't want Tyra to win. Team Jujubee all the way!

Date: 2010-03-10 06:17 am (UTC)This! And, Ru saw her completely lame-ass 'Sasha Fierce' impression in the game-show challenge. Ick.
Haha, I think that everyone should stop trying to get her to change (it makes them - or specifically, Tatianna, look bad) and instead just throw around insults about Beyonce when Tyra can hear. Then Tyra would have a breakdown and have to leave. That would be hilarious :D
Jujubee was fantastic this week! Although, to be fair, she *does* try to start shit sometimes. But she's clever about it and isn't obvious about it :) I love her. Weirdly enough (considering that I really find Raven unlikeable ... but less so, recently), I really thought Raven deserved to win this challenge. Her jailbait story was cute.

Date: 2010-03-10 06:26 am (UTC)Haha, it would be amazing, if they totally dissed Beyonce just to rile up Tyra.
I think you're right about Jujubee, she does start shit sometimes. I just think she's the strongest one there. I don't really like Raven all that much (though I sympathized with her explanation of why she chose the order she did). And while I think Pandora is cute, I don't think she's got enough glam for the competition. Sahara can maybe pull it off, but she's all over the place sometimes. Then Tatiana's fashion sucks pretty consistently and Jessica Wild only marginally less so. So honestly I think it comes down to Tyra, Raven and Jujubee. Of the three I like Jujubee the most in terms of style and personality.
Still, I feel like this batch is not the caliber of the last. Maybe I'm biased.

Date: 2010-03-10 07:28 am (UTC)Personally, Pandora's my favourite, but yeah, you're right. If last season's winner is anything to go by, they (well, Ru) put a really strong emphasis on glamour.
Oh, while I'm being nitpicky, another thing about Tyra that annoyed me was when she was all 'they're all copying me with the facial hair', which is just ... no. Every drag king in all of history has known about drawing on facial hair. She didn't invent it. Gr. But seeing as this season is emphasising the drama so much more, I suspect Tyra's going to be kept around until the finals, for the conflict she brings.

Date: 2010-03-14 05:31 am (UTC)couldn't find one either :( i streamed it by DLing this (http://hotspotshield.com/), which prevents the logo (http://www.logoonline.com/shows/rupauls_drag_race/season_2/series.jhtml) website from recognising if you're not in the US. it works, but slows things down while switched on, for me.

Ugh, I know! I haven't seen the new ep. yet, but according to the previews they have to sing in this one. So I'm convinced that her obnoxious singing last week was actually the reason she was allowed to win the wedding challenge, so that she'd have immunity this week. She needs to stick around for the conflict she brings. But nobody should ever have to listen to Tyra trying be Beyonce.
Anyway -- feel free to post your reviews/rants or anything at all. **is not pressuring you, i swear. just doesn't want to be the only one posting ;)**

Date: 2010-03-17 07:32 pm (UTC)Besides. I wish we knew who the judges were ahead of time anyway. I would LOVE to have Jay McCaroll be a judge/create looks for the girls. *sigh. I did think your drag king idea was fabu tho. I would love to see more cross drag love. Why do they have to be separate camps?

Date: 2010-03-18 01:01 am (UTC)I'd love more cross-drag love too. I feel like Pandora Boxx would finally win. It was so cute when she talked about how she felt like a drag king during the wedding challenge when she was dressing as a man.
Why the separate camps?
Because even within the queer community we're intolerant about people who are different types of queer because that way we can feel like we're better than gay men/lesbians/trans people/whatever we're not??. I don't know.no subject
Date: 2010-03-18 05:53 pm (UTC)Yeah.. The hate hate that goes on in my town between the rival GLBTQ orgs is somewhat legendary. one of the main reasons I don't volunteer anymore.. once you are labeled as a friend of one event then you are practically banned from another. I have enough hate in my life I don't need it from my queer peers.
But a cross-drag event really is a wonderful idea. I wonder if I can put a fire under a friend or 2 and make something happen.

OMG, yes, do! I've seen queer burlesque (not drag) done with female, trans and male performers *together*, which was great. But not cross-drag. That would be pretty amazing.
