Date: 2016-05-04 02:07 am (UTC)I loved Mama Ru's dress, but her eyebrows! I couldn't quite tell if she was going for avant garde or doing a subtle homage to Derrick's final look. ;)
No one-on-one interview with Mama Ru? No Tic-Tacs? I kind of missed that.
I thought some of the runway quips were especially witty this time: "Edgar Allan Hoe," and "Gypsies, Tramps and Weaves!" Hee. :)
Carson Kressley is definitely my favorite judge. I'm so glad he's on Drag Race. I particularly appreciated him sharing his experience with Queer Eye and what it meant to be embraced for what he did and who he was instead of hiding it, and that he believes that will happen for Kim Chi with this.
During the lip sync, I loved Bob's teensy homage to Detox's wobbly jaw style. Quick, but fun. :)
Was it just me, or was Chi Chi's farewell snap one of the most impressive snaps ever in the history of the show? It sounded like a firecracker! I watched it a second time, and the sound seemed appropriate for the space, so I don't think it was a sound effect. Maybe they boosted the volume in the editing. Either way, it was formidable.
Today, it has been interesting following the #DragRace hashtag on Twitter and seeing how the popularity of the Top Three is shaking out.
Silly random side thought: Maybe Naomi, Courtney Act, Violet, Carmen, and Sonique can get together and start a boutique specializing in lingerie. They can call it the Body-ody-ody Shop. :)

Date: 2016-05-04 03:29 am (UTC)Tic-Tacs aren't Paleo. j/k, Paleo is bullshit. And Crossfit even more so.
More seriously, I appreciate the new format in retrospect because the heartfelt moments with the childhood pictures came as a surprise. If we'd done the tete-a-tete with Ru, we would have gotten the same material on the runway, but super telegraphed.

Date: 2016-05-04 04:24 pm (UTC)LOL LOL LOL! I hadn't thought about that, but I did think that Mama Ru's eye make-up was, well, it was. D: Her dress was DIVINE! I really liked how it looked like extra-glossy taffy.
The judges have been A-MAZING this season! I do wish we got to see a bit more of their scenes.
BTW, iirc, Chi Chi did a snap in Untucked that sounded just as loud. So I'm thinking it's one of her hidden talents.

Date: 2016-05-11 01:29 am (UTC)I actually wondered if it was 3D printed, like many of Iris van Herpen's garments.
Thank you for letting me know about the Untucked Chi Chi snap -- I will go back and look. It will tide me over while we wait for the finale.
;) :) :)
*curtseys* :)
